Stitch and pray combines art and faith

A group of ladies gathers every Thursday afternoon in the chapel and creates a number of items.Stitch and Pray has become an arts related mission directed by Salina Presbyterian Manor chaplain, Mary Bridges.  A group of ladies gathers every Thursday afternoon in the chapel and creates a number of items:  comfort pillows to hug or provide support after surgery, prayer shawls and squares to give comfort during illness or after surgery, and infant caps for Salina Presbyterian Manor employees who have had babies.

In the wake of three infant deaths in the Salina community, residents collected teddy bears and made blankets, scarfs, and accessories for the bears. Residents are also reaching beyond manor walls and out into the greater community with Stitch and Pray. The bears are then donated to CAPS (Child Advocacy and Parenting Services) for their child abuse prevention program.
