Make a Mother’s Day tribute gift

Good Samaritan ProgramApril marked the 65th anniversary of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. As we look back at our beginnings, we discover that PMMA has had a tie to specific purpose fundraising on Mother’s Day from its infancy. In the fall of 1947, nearly two years before the first campus opened in Newton, the Presbyterian synod authorized the first board to conduct a fund-raising campaign including a special appeal at Mother’s Day to support the effort to establish a home for the aged.

Today, the specific purpose of the Mother’s Day appeal is to financially assist our residents, who have reached the end of their financial resources through no fault of their own, so that they can remain a Presbyterian Manor resident and neighbor. Through the Good Samaritan Program, PMMA provides care to nearly 500 residents throughout the PMMA system.

Through fund-raisers and generous contributions from staff, residents and their families, PMMA’s Good Samaritan Program for Benevolent Care continues its 65 years of assistance to those residents who need help.

Please support this special program by making a gift in honor or in memory of your mother or another special person in your life. You may designate your gift toward the Presbyterian Manor of your choice. If you did not receive the Mother’s Day appeal in the mail, you may obtain a tulip card by visiting the receptionist at your local Presbyterian Manor or make a gift online. What a wonderful way to say Happy Mother’s Day to a loved one, while helping senior Moms who need a little extra hand this Mother’s Day.
