Through its proximity to the University of Kansas, residents at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor often work with KU students to create works of art. Over spring break, students visit the Lawrence campus and work with residents of Wheatlands Health Care Center.
The inspiration for this project is a small wall quilt consisting of four fabric folk art sunflowers. The students and residents created individual panels using the basic design of the inspiration but adding their own perspective to their project. The finished panels will be used as door decorations.
Residents, staff and volunteers also built a “Residents’ Creations” exhibit for the annual Art is Ageless® exhibit.
