PMMA communities issue Art is Ageless® calls for entries

PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America) communities are seeking artists age 65 and older to enter the 2021 Art is Ageless juried exhibits and competitions at the 15 locations in Kansas and Missouri.

The events are planned for March, April and May 2021. See the list of communities and their entry deadlines, exhibit and reception dates. Many of the exhibits and receptions will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on visitation at the senior living communities.

As the celebration of 40 years of the Art is Ageless program continues, entries of artistic works will be accepted from any area artists who are 65 years of age or older to exhibit and/or compete for an opportunity to be featured in the 2022 Art is Ageless Calendar. The first calendar was issued in 1981.

Artists may choose to enter works for exhibit only. For the competition, works are to have been completed in the past five years (since January 2016). There are nine categories, as well as designations of amateur or professional.

Art is Ageless is a registered trademark of PMMA. The Art is Ageless® program encourages PMMA community residents and other area seniors to express their creativity through its annual competition, as well as art classes, musical and dramatic events, educational opportunities and current events discussions throughout the year.

Local competition winners will join winners from all 15 PMMA communities to be judged at the systemwide level to be selected for inclusion in the 2022 calendar and greeting cards.
