KU Creates: Folk Art Sunflowers by Committee

Residents of Wheatlands Health Care Center will participate in an art project on March 9 with the help of KU students who are participating in the KU Alternative Spring Break program.

The inspiration for this project is a small wall quilt consisting of four fabric folk art sunflowers. The students and residents will create individual panels using the basic design of the inspiration but adding their own perspective to their project. The finished panels will be used as door decorations.

Residents, staff and volunteers also will be building a “Residents’ Creations” exhibit for the annual Art is Ageless® exhibit and competition April 14 to 17 at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.
