Sharon Nelson, a resident of Aberdeen Village in Olathe, Kan., used colored pencils on mixed media paper to create this festive picture, “Christmas Time.” She shared, “We moved to Aberdeen Village in 2016. It was here that I was introduced to pencil art. Aberdeen provided weekly classes taught by a very knowledgeable teacher. My art was a life saver for me to fill in the empty spaces following my husband’s death and during the days of being shut in during COVID. Without Aberdeen’s gift, I would lack my art to enter in the Art is Ageless® competition.”
